Yes sir, I'm still breathing and living among the living...

... I'm just not as active in the online world as I used to be. :( I know I neglect my fandoms. I haven't made one icon in months, haven't updated my journals, I haven't even read one single fanfic. This is the biggest break I've ever taken from fandom. Well, now, I want to get back to it, even though it may be a slow progress (depends on the free time I have).

During the rare time I spent online in the last time I found a funny vid. Chances are high that you've already seen it. It's called What What (In The Butt). It's really funny. ( Watch 'What What (In The Butt)' )
And I think it's already hight time for another of my "Ohrwurm" posts. I have so many new songs I really love at the moment! One of these songs is by Peter von Poehl "The Story Of The Impossible". Some of my German friends will know it from the ad for "Alpina Weiß". ( Watch the full music video for this song behind the cut. )
Okay, that's it for now! I hope I will find some time to make new icons and other goodies and to update my journal and to comment on your journal entries. :)

I hate spam attacks! + some linkage and news about the SPN newsletter project

Today, after months of getting irritating and completely incomprehensible spam comments by anons, I finally disabled commenting for everyone and enabled commenting for registered users only! I really hate doing that, but having to delete more than 15 spam comments per day really got on my nerves. This change will only be temporary though. After 2 weeks I will try enable comments for everyone again. Hopefully all those darn spam anons will have lost interest by then.

Also for all anime fans on my f-list, I found a nice site where you can watch a lot of animes online without the trouble of downloading each episode. The site is called ani-watch. Go, check it out! :)

On a different note, it would be great if you could vote in the SPN newsletter poll, vol.2 if you haven't already. So far, 11 people took the poll! I want to have a few more votes before I analyze the results.

On the same matter, I want to announce that the asylum spn_newsletter was handed over to me by

dea_liberty on June 19th, 2008. That will spare me the effort of creating a new asylum! :)

[project]: SPN newsletter for IJ, vol.2

A while ago, on February 19th to be exact, I created a poll to gather information on how people feel about a SPN newsletter on IJ. Due to a family bereavement at the beginning of March, I haven't had the energy to work on this project. I apologize for the hiatus!

However, now I'm very much in the mood to get this baby going.

Before we get to the results, I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time and effort to vote in the last poll! &hearts

What did we learn from the last poll?

I'm back, life sucked a great deal, now it's getting slightly better

Oh hell, I'm bored out of my mind. Actually, there are a few things that need to be done, but as it always goes with such things I don't want to deal with them right now. Procrastinating much? Y/N?

I noticed I haven't updated since February 29th. That's because I was at home from March, 5th till March 31st. My father passed away and I had to hurry home much earlier as I had originally planned. These past 4 weeks were really hard for me and I still can't wrap my mind around the thought that he's gone, forever. It's hard! It's shocking! It's sad! And so very unfair! He was only 49 and he died way too young. His life hasn't been happy and fulfilled either. If it were in my power I wish I could have made his life better. I hope wherever he is now, that it's nice there.

Anyway, as you know, whenever I am home I don't have a connection to the internet. That's good, in a way, because this way I'm forced to take a break from the online life, but, what can I say, I missed my journals. When I came back here I noticed that InsaneJournal has been updated and there are a lot of improvements! I really approve!

Also, I wanted to let everyone know who participated in the SPN Newsletter for InsaneJournal-poll that I'm working on it! I'm sorry for the delay, but as you see, RL intervened and consumed most of my time so I haven't had the chance to work on that project. But I will, I'm not neglecting it!

Well, that's it for now.

I have a few things on my mind right now and I'm thinking about writing some meta about yaoi manga (Hey, I saw you rolling your eyes there. :D) or Snarry or fanfics in general.

Aw hell, I'm still bored.

SPN Newsletter for fannish stuff on IJ?!

Yesterday I followed a link from the recent issue of

meta_roundup to a post by

morgandawn in which she raises the question whether there is "any interest in a supernatural newsletter that will cover not only LJ but also JF and IJ supernatural fic and art".

On reading this, I felt compelled to put in my two cents' worth. There already exists a community that covers fannish content here on IJ called

spn_newsletter, created on 2007-08-08. Currently it has 53 members and 96 watchers, and unfortunately it hasn't been updated since the day it was created. Meaning except for two introductory posts there has never been an actual newsletter to begin with. And as far as I can tell the two maintainers seemed to have abandoned IJ.

It's really sad in my opinion. I love the SPN newsletter on LJ, it comes in handy if you want to keep track of all the lovely fanart, fanfics and so on posted around there. I know SPN fandom on IJ is not as big and active as on LJ, but at least it's not dead. It's here, it's living and it needs more attention.

To be honest, I've entertained the idea of creating a newsletter community for IJ some time ago when I noticed that

spn_newsletter still hadn't updated and fandom around here had grown more active. I know SPN fandom here is not comparable to SPN fandom on LJ, but I think a SPN newsletter on a weekly (or maybe bi-weekly) basis would be great.

I'm also aware of how much effort it is to hunt for appropriate links, as well as editing and all the lovely stuff that comes with it for the actual newsletter. But, oh well, I'm ~~crazy enough~~ happy to volunteer to be an editor. But I don't want to do this all alone. I need at least 2 or 3 people who are willing to help.

( So that's why I ask you to fill out the poll. I know you want to anyway. :) )

And it would be great if you could pimp this out! I'd like to know your thoughts on this matter. *is very interested*

Bleach and Death Note = new fandoms

Thanks to my dear friend

only_gremo I'm currently terribly obsessed with two animes: Bleach and Death Note. It's been awhile since I've last been this obsessed with an anime. I think the last two animes I've been fangirling over were Dragon Ball Z and Gundam Wing of which the latter is still one of my main fandoms. But now - thanks again Gremo - I've got two new fandoms. :)

I've not yet finished watching Bleach and Death Note. But I'm getting there!

Anyway, since I'm so in love with Bleach I wanted to make some icons of it. So I went searching for screencaps, but, dude believe it or not, it's damn hard to find some. Really, I'm not kidding here! I couldn't for the life of me find screencaps from all the episodes, especially episode 01. That's why I made my own caps and since Bleach screencaps are so rare, I want to share them. In fact, I'm planning on making caps from each episode. But for now here are the caps from episode 01.

First, I've only known Jared from his band 30 Seconds To Mars. Even though I like their music, I've never once looked up "Jared Leto" on the internet or somewhere else, you could say I don't know anything about him. (That will definitely change, because now I am a fan! ^.^) Therefore I don't know whether he's gay, bi or hetero or whatever.

But what he says about that "if so-sex scene". Whoa!! I'd really love to see that "best man-on-man sex you've ever seen". Now, I have those naughty mental images! Great! Thanks Jared!

A dream comes true ... well sort of

Whoa, I don't know what's gotten into me! I think it's because I've read a lot of Gundam Wing fanfics lately. You can say my dormant Gundam Wing obsession has been reawakened, full force!

And then I read the Gundam Wing fandom history at Fan Fiction History Wiki and I don't know, I just got so nostalgic, thinking that I've been a Gundam Wing fan since 2002/2003. It's one of my very first fandoms! So I went back to IJ looking for Gundam Wing asylums to join and noticed that there was no such asylum for fans of the 1x2x1 (or 2x1x2) pairing!

And then, all of the sudden there it was: The irresistible urge to create an 1x2x1 asylum. Weak as I am, I couldn't resist it. And so the

1x2x1_realm was born! It's still under construction though! I will work on the layout and rules etc. tomorrow, (today to be more exact)!
