Songs I adore

First of all:

Happy New Year!!!

Lately I'm listening to a few songs that I really love! The one I love the most is 'Rolling In The Deep' by Adele | Listen on youtube. It's a really catching song! I can listen to it on and off. I like the voice of the singer.

The second one is 'I Need A Dollar' by Aloe Blacc | Listen on tape.tv. It sounds a bit like hip-hop and soul. I don't know how to properly discripe it. It's just fun listening to it. I need a dollar dollar, a dollar is what I need...

Other songs I'm currently listening to a lot are:

+ 'Glow' by Madcon | Listen on youtube

+ 'Steroe Love' by Vika Jigulin | Listen on youtube

+ 'Firework' by Katy Perry | Listen on youtube

+ 'Skinny Genes' by Eliza Doolittle | Listen on tape.tv

+ 'Barbra Streisand' by Duck Sauce | Listen on youtube

Ohrwürmer #2

(der) Ohrwurm: [pl. (die) Ohrwürmer, Ohrwuermer], noun, German word for music that currently sticks to one's head

It's once again high time to present a few songs that currently stick to my head. There are actually a few.

The first one is a classic rock song from the band Loverboy called "Turn Me Loose". The first time I listened to it was almost two weeks ago when I was brushing my teeth at 4 a.m. I have a radio in my bathroom and my favorite classic rock radio station "Radio 21" played it at that time. Hah, I got instantly hooked. The lyrics are very interesting, too. For example:

And I was here to please,
I'm even on my knees
Makin love to whoever I please,
I gotta do it my way,
Or no way at all.

The next song is "Cells" by The Servant. I first got into it because of a SPN fanvid I presented here. It was so well done and the song so fitting, I liked it immediately. As far as I know is "Cells" featured on the "Sin City OST". I especially like the expressive lyrics and the violins in the background.

The sun goes up and the sun goes down
I drag myself into the town
All I do I wanna to do with you
Everyday I'm at my desk
At my desk I'm like the rest
All I do I wanna do with you

Another song I really like is "You & A Promise" by Howie Day. Don't ask me where I first heard that song! I just had it on my hard drive, and a few days ago my shuffle mode played this song and I was all like, "Whoa, what a nice song!" and I've listened to it a lot ever since.

She was nervous
She was late
She left it up to fate
Standing at a phone oh
And she knows just what she wants
And she came here to take it
How perfect it could be
You and me
And she met him
At the door
I don't want you anymore
Remember what you said

The next song is "We Used To Be Friends" by The Dandy Warhols. Again, I can't tell where I got it from, I just had it somewhere in my folders It's on the "Veronica Mars OST" and my shuffle mode was so kind and played it and I liked it instantly. I remember the music video and I also remember not liking that song when I first saw said video. How strange that I like it now!

A long time ago, we used to be friends
But I haven't thought of you lately at all
If ever again, a greeting I send to you,
Short and sweet to the soul I intend.

Okay, that's it. My favorite songs at the moment! :)

Ohrwürmer #1

(der) Ohrwurm: [pl. (die) Ohrwürmer, Ohrwuermer], noun, German word for music that currently sticks to one's head

I thought it's time to present a few songs I'm really into at the moment!

The first one is by the great and wonderful Elvis "The Pelvis" Presley. I don't know why I love Elvis so much these days, perhaps it's because recently I was able to get my hands on his Greatest Jukebox Hits, which is really a great album. Anyway, the song I'm quite addicted to at the moment is 'Suspicious Mind'. I'm sure you all know this song, right? lyrics )

The second song I'm in love with at the moment is by Johnny Cash. There are not many songs by him I don't like! He's a talented artist! The song I like most these days is 'God's Gonna Cut You Down', I really can't tell why I love this song so much seeing that it is entirely about God! lyrics )

And last but not least a song that was played in Supernatural during 2.14 "Born Under A Bad Sign" when possessed!Sam enters the bar and meets Jo! That song is by Tarbox Ramblers and called 'Ashes to Ashes' (30 seconds impression only, couldn't find anything else, sorry!) It's a wonderful, slow song that sounds dangerous because of Michael Tarbox' deep voice and the dark country blues tone. It fits Sam's demon side very well! lyrics )

Impressions, opinions, anything else?
